With social
responsibility and ethical practice at the very top of Leo Group's agenda,
it is unsurprising that the leading waste management and recycling company also
participates in charity fundraising events and makes frequent donations to
various charities.
LeoGroup's continuing
commitment to philanthropy has resulted in them accumulating the incredible sum
of £125,000 for charity in just one year.
This
generosity is typified by Leo Group's community fund, which supports a
number of eminently worthy causes in Leo Group's home county of
Yorkshire. But Leo Group are also delighted to donate to charities from
across the whole of the UK, demonstrating their genuine concern for the
disadvantaged and disenfranchised no matter where they are found.
Leo
Group's chosen
charities include exciting projects to inspire children and young adults
through sports, education, culture and the environment.
Other
foundations such as Sue Ryder at Manorlands Hospice and Action for Children
have been allocated donations by Leo Group to help them provide grief
and bereavement counselling and compassionate care.
Marathons
and Movember
Fundraising
is definitely a team effort for Leo Group, and employees from different
areas of the organisation have come together to try to make real a difference
to peoples' lives. Moreover, the
Managing Director of Leo Group, Danny Sswrij, has taken the lead in
promoting the firm's charity work, pro-actively engaging in fundraising
activities himself as a way of giving of something back to society.
The staff
at Leo Group are always looking for new and novel ways of raising cash
for charity, which range from challenging tests of endurance like the Leeds
Jane Tomlinson 10k run to the more irreverent Movember (cultivating the
much-maligned moustache for the entire month of November!).
Sponsoring
Olympic Medal Triumphs
In addition
to donating to charity in the traditional way - and enjoying the more
unorthodox fundraising experiences like Movember - Leo Group were also
proud sponsors of the Howarth Riding for the Disabled Group, who excelled at
this years' Special Olympic Games. The team of riders achieved overwhelming
success at the Games, winning a total of 9 medals including 4 golds. Leo Group would like to congratulate
the Howarth Riding for the Disabled Group for Olympic glory following all their
hard work.
